ICL develops, produces, markets and sells a broad range of acids, polymeric acids and specialty phosphates for different applications in a broad range of industries. To name a few: Polyphosphoric acid (PPA) is a proven modifier that improves the properties of asphalt binder, Dipotassium Phosphate (DKP) is included in many antifreeze formulas, specialty phosphate salts and acid produced by ICL provide alternative solutions for manufacture of new high performance battery systems, Ortho- and Pyrophosphates are used in cosmetics to stabilize the pH-value.
We are now looking to extend the use of the P2O5 molecule, a core mineral of ICL, to other markets, by collaborating with startups, entrepreneurs and academia. We are open to developing materials not currently produced by ICL, or tailor existing ones to new applications. New phosphates, with demonstated advantages can come out of such collaboration. We're looking for better properties, such as better abrasion resistance for coatings, better adhesion to surfaces and retention of coating's gloss.
Here are some examples to possible extensions of the P2O5 mineral chain to get your started:
The proposal would need to clearly describe the technical concept (chemical approach, structure if IP protected) and proof of concept results, if available. Information on ICL's solutions involving the P2O5 mineral chain can be found at www.icl-phos-spec.com/about/p205-applications/.
As a technology incubator, ICL Innovation is looking only for innovative technologies that may be further developed and commercialized through a business unit in ICL.
