Polyhalite derivatives & production processes

ICL Innovation is seeking innovative processing methods to produce Potassium Sulfate (SOP), Potassium Nitrate, an co-crystals of Magnesium Sulfate and Potassium Sulfate (Schonite/Leonite/Langbeinite) starting from Polyhalite. 

Background

Polyhalite contains a number of essential plant nutrients and is therefore of interest to the fertilizers industry. In its natural form it is of limited use due to its low solubility. Innovative derivates and innovative production processes, exhibiting better results than the known thermal and acidic treatments, may extend its usage and application and add to the existing ICL product line. We are particularly interested in compaction methods which are readily scaled up.
