Enhance Struvite availability to plants

ICL Innovation is seeking technologies to enhance the availability of Struvite and similar minerals as a nutrient source for plants.

Background:

Struvite and similar minerals can be used as nutrient sources for plants. ICL's interest is in increasing their usability as feedstock to fertilizers production plants. Non soluble fertilizers are a potential source of nutrients for plants, originating from waste water treatment plants, natural rock formations and other sources. Grinding and spreading on the soil on its own does not allow for the release profile required by plants in their various growth stages. If a technology was to be found for making the nutrients locked within these non soluble compounds available to plants, and readily made into fertilizers, then a cheap and available source of fertilizers would be added, possibly from local sources, for the benefit of all. We are therefore searching for technologies to increase the solubility and availability of such minerals.
