Plant stimulants and biostimulants

ICL Innovation seeks effective plants stimulants and biostimulant to promote beneficial aspects of plants such as increased yield, resilience and health and that are effective in real life conditions across soils, climates and over time.

Background

Over the millenia nature developed elaborate biodiversified plants rhizospheres for each plant. Unperceivable numbers of bacteria, viruses, fungi and mirco-organisms, all interacting with one another when conditions are right and when the need arises. Trying to grow one micro-organism which promotes a certain aspect in the plant while ignoring the multitude of others is doomed for failure. However, clearly some micro-organisms can influence crops and plants in extremely beneficial ways. Phosphate Solubilizing Micro-organism (PSM), Nitrogen Fixing Bacteria (NF) and others are examples, and to the most part already identified. Harnessing novel technologies towards this evolution-driven solution is an effort that may pay dividends in the future. This type of solution has the potential to reduce resource waste, use less fertilizers and pesticides and utilize our planet's limited arable soil resources in the most prudent way. We at ICL Innovation, in cooperation with ICL Specialty Fertilizers boldly set our target to tackle this challenge and find the technologies to help us with it.

We are looking for

Plant stimulation: desired effects include increased growth, increased yield, better yield quality, higher resistance to abiotic stress, etc. Chemical stimulants and biostimulants will be considered.

Our criteria

Information on ICL's current product line can be found in the ICL Specialty Fertilizers web page.

As a technology incubator, ICL Innovation is looking only for innovative technologies that may be further developed and commercialized through a business unit in ICL.
